About Omnilux Contour light therapy
Omnilux is a company existing since 2000. In 2003, it was recognized as the world’s leading producer of medical devices for LED light therapy. They offer several different health and beauty products using red and near-infrared light for various purposes, from acne treatment to anti-aging.
Omnilux is one of the most trusted LED therapy brands out there as they have more than 50 published studies supporting the effectiveness of their devices. Besides, the FDA approved Omnilux devices as safe for use.
How Omnilux Contour light therapy works
As we age, the body’s collagen and elastin production decrease, resulting in a loss of volume and elasticity on our skin — it becomes loose or thin with wrinkles. Likewise, UV rays from sun exposure can cause unwanted pigmentation and are the principal cause of premature aging best known as photo-aging.
The best way to achieve youthful-looking skin is with the latest technology. Omnilux uses clinically proven red and near-infrared lights. These work together on a cellular level, promoting collagen production, which improves skin elasticity and reduces fine lines or wrinkles.
The red light (633 nm) is absorbed by an intracellular organelle, the mitochondria, better known as the power source of the cell. This light stimulates the production of molecules of adenosine triphosphate (ATP). It is an essential player in metabolic processes like viability and cell oxygenation. This augmented cellular activity supports skin repair and smooths expression lines.
Why does red light therapy work? The answer is in our article.
The near-infrared light (830 nm) works synergistically with the red. It penetrates deeper into the dermis stimulating new collagen. This wavelength helps with tissue regeneration and firmer-looking younger skin.

How effective is LED light therapy? Based on scientific research
When it comes to aging, an important factor leading to the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles is insufficient collagen production.
Increasing the number of fibroblasts is just one of the benefits of red and near-infrared LED therapy. Fibroblasts produce collagen fibers, so the more fibroblasts in the skin, the more collagen is produced.
Here are some studies that confirm the effectiveness of LED therapy in the treatment of age-related changes in the skin.
A study realized by Shaoul and Mulholland [1] evaluated the effect of Silk’n Reju/FaceFX device (Home Skinovations, Yokneam, Israel) on 40 participants, between 30 to 55 years old, with lax facial skin, large pores, fine lines, and wrinkles. They received eight treatments every two weeks for four weeks. As a result, were noted improvements in facial wrinkles and skin texture. However, a decrease in pigmentation was less noticeable. The authors concluded an overall improvement in the appearance of the facial skin in 77% of the patients.
The paper of Barolet and collaborators [2] examined the effects of LED therapy, using 660 nm wavelength, on 40 aged/photo-aged individuals between 33 to 62 years old (37 women and three men). Individuals were treated three times per week for four consecutive weeks. The research found that LED therapy promoted collagen production by increasing blood circulation, improving oxygenation and nutrient delivery to cells. As a result, more than 90% of patients experienced a decrease in the depth of wrinkles and skin roughness. Also, patients did not present adverse effects or downtime.
Many studies support the effectiveness of red and infrared light on the appearance of the skin. In the specific case of Omnilux devices, Russell and peers [3] examined 31 individuals, between 35 to 57 years old, with age-related wrinkles. The authorstreated them with the OmniluxTM LED system for 12 weeks. The treatments combined wavelengths of 633 nm (Omnilux ReviveTM) and 830 nm (Omnilux PlusTM). After nine weeks, 52% of patients showed between 25 to 50% improvement in photoaging face skin by nine weeks; 81% of patients reported a significant reduction in wrinkles at the end of follow-up.
The research of Báez and Reilly [4] included 13 patients between 35 and 55 years old (ten women and three men) with wrinkles or fine lines. The patients received nine-light treatments lasting 20 minutes using LED therapy from two different sources: Omnilux ReviveTM (633 nm) and Omnilux PlusTM (830 nm). As a result, after 12 weeks of follow-up, 91% of patients reported an improvement in skin tone, and 82% reported an enhancement in skin smoothness in the treated area.
Light contour therapy helps to improve the appearance of the skin. LED devices emitting at 660 nm and 830 nm are a safe and effective strategy for increasing collagen levels.
Best Omnilux LED devices
Omnilux Contour Glove
Omnilux Contour Glove
The Omnilux Contour Glove is a device that uses pulsed red and near-infrared light to rejuvenate the skin on the hands.
The skin has blood vessels on the surface, responsible for maintaining its condition. Also, the skin has specialized cells called melanocytes, localized in the deepest part of the epidermis. They are very sensitive to the light, resulting in skin pigmentation. The Omnilux Contour Glove targets blood vessels allowing lymphatic drainage to improve blood circulation and therefore, oxygenation in the skin.
The recommended use of Omnilux devices is only 20 minutes, twice a week. However, users report that they see evident results if they use it every day, but for only five minutes a day.
Omnilux Contour Neck and Décolleté
Omnilux Contour Neck and Décolleté
The Omnilux Contour Neck and décolleté is, at first glance, a strange gadget because of its shape. But in fact, it is one of the cheapest ways to tighten the skin of the neck and décolleté.
This device also uses low-level lasers (red and near-infrared) to emit light onto your skin. This type of light promotes collagen production, which strengthens your skin and makes it more elastic. It also targets sun spots and hyperpigmentation. The Omnilux Contour Neck and décolleté are said to reduce wrinkles by 30%.
The device should be used 10 minutes a day 3-5 times a week.
Omnilux Contour Face
Omnilux Contour Face
The Omnilux Contour Face, like the rest of the devices described, is a LED mask emitting red and near-infrared light to stimulate skin cells. The manufacturer claims that the device reduces fine lines, wrinkles, and pigmentation, as well as improves blood circulation for a youthful face look.
The mask has an ergonomic design that fits comfortably on your face and it attaches with Velcro. This device works with a small battery pack and uses high-quality LED lamps, which have a lifespan of 10 years.
Omnilux Contour Face is recommended to be used for ten minutes three to five times a week.

The Omnilux treatment emits red and near-infrared light that stimulates natural collagen fibers to reduce wrinkles and fine lines. Near-infrared light also stimulates the dermis (the second layer of the skin) to produce more collagen. The collagen helps to improve the tightness and firmness of the skin, giving a more youthful appearance.
🔎 How many Omnilux Contour treatments do I need?
For best results, manufacturers recommend a series of five to ten treatments performed three days apart during the first month and every 4-6 weeks after.
❓ Which areas can be treated with the Omnilux Contour light therapy?
Omnilux Contour works on the face, neck, décolleté, and arms. There is a special device for each area:
– Omnilux Contour Glove;
– Omnilux Contour Neck and Décolleté;
– Omnilux Contour Face.
⏳ How long does each treatment last?
The procedures take little time. On average, one session lasts only 5-10 minutes. Then you can go back to your routine without downtime.
